0. GENERAL INFORMATION
Prague Integrated Transport
tariff is valid on all
Metro, tram and bus routes as well as the funicular within the Prague Capital. There are
time and zone tariffs, change and no-change ones. Prague integrated transport is divided
into six tariff zones. The area of the city of Prague consists of two tariff zones, P zone
and so-called "finishing" zone 0. The neighbourhood of Prague consists of four
external tariff zones. The validity period of a single, 24 hours, 3 days, 7 days and 15
days ticket commences at the moment the ticket has been stamped and expires after the
elapse of the appropriate time interval. The passenger is obliged to stamp the ticket or
the short-time season ticket in a proper way immediately after entering the vehicle or the
Metro area for the first time. The ticket stamped improperly is not valid. When changing
the routes, the ticket is not to be stamped again. The time of the ride discontinuation is
also included in the validity period. In case the validity time expires during the ride
the passenger is obliged to stamp another ticket.
I. SINGLE TICKETS
These tickets are designed for
transport by all PIT means within relevant zones during the designated period. For a
single ride by railway tickets of Czech Railways are used except for tracks no. 171 in the
segment Praha hl.n. - Řevnice and no. 221 in the segment Praha hl.n. - Senohraby, where
the use of PIT tickets is allowed as well.

CHANGE TICKETS are valid
for Metro, trams, buses and funicular. The ticket for two tariff zones is valid 60 minutes
from its validation. On working days from 08.00 p.m. to 05.00 a.m., on Saturdays and
Sundays twenty-four hours, it is valid 90 minutes from stamping. Validity period of
tickets for three and more zones is subject to the data in the table.
NO-CHANGE TICKETS are
valid for trams and buses 15 minutes with no possibility to change. In Metro it is valid
for the distance of 4 stations from the station where the ticket is stamped ( this station
being excluded) with a possibility to change between the lines A,B,C, but no longer than
30 minutes. It is not valid on night routes and funicular.

IV. CHARGE FOR
TRANSPORTING LUGGAGE 6,-Kč
The charge for transporting
luggage is to be paid by a 6,- Kč change ticket, the time validity of which is identical
to that of the ticket of the passenger transporting the luggage ( but 180 minutes at
maximum). This charge is paid for transporting luggage if the items are larger than 25 x
45 x 70 cm ( a bar longer than 150 cm and of diameter over 20 cm, board larger than 100 x
100 x 5 cm), for an empty pram and a dog without a box (not allowed in Metro excluding
permitted exceptions) . Season tickets of all types entitle the holder to transport free
of charge one of the items subjected to the above mentioned charge.Only objects permitted
by contractual transport terms and conditions can be transported. Carriage in the trains
of Czech Railways is governed by the Rules of Railway Transport.
V. FREE OF CHARGE
TRANSPORTATION
Free of charge transportation is
valid for : children up to the age of 6 * citizens of the Czech Republic and persons with
a permanent stay in ČR older than 70 years (on the trains of Czech Railways they follow
the Czech Railways´ Tariff)* baby pram with a child (on the trains of Czech Railways only
in folded condition - so called "pushchairs") * animals (a dog) in a box *
bicycle in Metro.
VI. TICKET VALIDATION
The passenger is obliged to
validate a single ticket or a short-time season ticket for 24 hours, a multi-day ticket
for 3, 7 and 15 days in the set way, and that immediately after boarding the vehicle or
entering Metro for the the first time. The ticket is inserted into the ticket stamping
machine in the direction of the arrow with face (arrow) upwards. A properly validated
ticket changes colour of validation at certain points. An improperly validated ticket is
not valid. A ticket issued by the driver from the sales machine does not need to be
validated. The ticket is not validated again when changing.The time of stopovers is also
included within the period of validity. Season tickets with a valuable coupon are not
validated.
VII. EXACT TIME AND
ZONES
Determination of the validity
period of validated tickets is subject to the time printed on the ticket. The exact time
is considered the time given by the transport operator. Check time data are shown on the
time display on the vehicle. The right-hand top corner displays continuous information on
actual tariff zone of the vehicle (in Prague "P" zone, on the routes of the
numerical line 300 within the area of the city of Prague "0" zone are displayed
respectively). If the zonal validity of the ticket has been terminated, the passenger is
obliged to validate a new ticket.
VIII. TICKET SALE
Single tickets can be purchased
at points of sale in Metro, at Information Centres of Prague Public Transit Company, at
selected shops and also from drivers by the routes of the numerical line 300. Tickets can
also be obtained from ticket machines, located at Metro stations and other particular
places. When purchasing a ticket from the ticket machine, passengers are to follow
instructions on the display. |
